Less is more sweet

Hi Readers,

Have you ever wondered what sugar can do your body and mind? It can numb sensations. We have to periodically re-program it to be sensitive.

In a effort to lose all my post-pregnancy weight gain, I started working out about 3-4 times a week and have been doing it for the past 6 months. Going through all my records of calorie counting and activity, I realized that I'm not losing weight as quickly as I used to. I could blame hormones for it, but the really do I want to do that even after a year of having my son? Probably not. So, I started re-thinking everything I ate, and realized this morning that I'm eating way too much sugar than I used to. In a cup of oatmeal, presently I add 3-4tsps sugar to make it sweet enough for me. Previously I was ok with 2 tsps sugar. Suddenly I realized that over the years, sugar is not as sweet to me. Then I tried cutting back to 2 tsps this morning and tried to carefully taste and feel the sweetness in sugar, and I surely did. Analysing my food and my senses when I eat surely helps to keep my food consumption in check and also enjoy my food. Now I get it...all about the concept of MINDFULNESS. As Eckart Tolle says : "watch the thinker". I'm looking forward to implementing this on a daily basis and we'll see what remarkable changes it can do to my life.

3 month old babies

(I originally intended to publish this in June of 2013, but did it one year later ;)...bliss of parenting is to be blamed)

New parents are always worried about the "best" thing to do for their kids.

All our travel and outing will revolve around my 3-month old baby boy, Samrit. All he does is wakes up, feeds, looks around and back to sleep. He hardly cries which is very surprising to me, as I always associated babies to crying :)

Today we visited Lincoln park in West Seattle, and it is an awesome little gem in the heart of the city. It has beautiful water view
